GE Oven Error Codes
GE ovens and ranges show an F code when the electronic control finds a fault it can’t ignore. Many of them involve heat: the oven temperature sensor, the control board or the door lock used during self-clean. Some can be checked at home with the breaker off and a multimeter. Others mean the oven should stay off until a technician sees it.
Find your code below for what it means, the safe checks to try first and when to stop and call for service.
- F2 Oven overheat: the oven temperature has exceeded a preset limit, or the sensor reported that it did.
- F3 Open oven sensor: the control is not getting a reading from the oven temperature sensor.
