About KitchenAid error codes

KitchenAid is part of Whirlpool Corporation, and its dishwashers share their codes with Whirlpool and Maytag. On models without a display, the Clean light flashes the code: the first burst of flashes is the F number, the second the E number, followed by a pause before it repeats.

Current KitchenAid help pages are the reference for these meanings. Some very old KitchenAid models used a different code table, so if your dishwasher is older, the tech sheet behind the kick plate is the final word.

For leak codes such as F8 E4, what you do first depends on who installed the dishwasher, so read the steps before you unplug it.
