About Kenmore error codes
The first digits of the model number tell you the maker. Kenmore front-load washers starting with 110 are Whirlpool-built and use F codes such as F21, matching Whirlpool Duet washers. Models starting with 796 are commonly LG-built and use codes like OE, and models starting with 417 are commonly Electrolux-built and use E codes like E21.
Check the model number on the label inside the door opening or under the lid before you follow a fix. The same-looking code can mean different things on different platforms.
