Miele Error Codes
Miele dishwashers show F codes on the display, or flash an indicator light on models without a code display. Below is every Miele code we cover, with what it means and what to try first.
Miele Dishwasher codes
- F70 Waterproof system activated: Miele's leak protection has tripped and stopped the program.
- F78 Circulation pump blocked: the wash pump is stuck, often after the dishwasher sat unused.
- F11 Drain fault: the dishwasher couldn't pump the water out, so it stands in the wash cabinet.
- F14 Water intake fault: the circulation pump is stuck, or a pressure or heating level switch has a fault.
- F24 Heating relay fault: the relay that switches the water heater has a contact fault.
About Miele error codes
Miele’s own guidance splits the codes into two groups. Faults like F11, a drain fault, come with a step-by-step fix you can do at home: clean the filters, reseat the cover over the drain pump and clear the pump. F78, a stuck circulation pump, has a warm water soak you can try. Electronic, heating and leak faults like F24 and F70 are ones Miele says you cannot remedy yourself, and the only step is to book a repair.
Some Miele codes mean different things on washing machines and dishwashers, so make sure you’re on the page for your appliance.
Take care around the drain pump: Miele warns that glass splinters collect there and are hard to see.
