KitchenAid Dishwasher Error Codes
KitchenAid dishwashers share their F and E codes with Whirlpool and Maytag. Models with a display show the code directly; on others the Clean light flashes it: count the first burst for the F number and the second for the E number. Drain and leak codes are the most common, and most start with checks you can do yourself.
Choose your code below for what it means and what to try first.
- F9 E1 Long drain: the dishwasher didn't pump the water out in the time allowed.
- F8 E4 Water in the drip tray: the float switch under the tub has detected a leak or overflow.
