Whirlpool Dishwasher Error Codes
Whirlpool dishwashers use the same F and E codes as Maytag and KitchenAid models. On dishwashers without a display, the Clean light flashes the code: count the first burst for the F number and the second for the E number. Some codes clear with a power reset; others need a technician.
Find your code below for the meaning and the safe checks to try first.
- F6 E1 Control error: a fault in the user interface or the main control, often a lost connection between them.
- F7 E1 Water heating fault: the control detected a problem heating the water and turned the heater off.
- F8 E1 Not detecting water: the dishwasher didn't sense water coming in during the fill.
