Maytag Washer Error Codes
Maytag washers show codes in two parts, an F number and an E number, such as F9 E1. They share these codes with Whirlpool washers built on the same platforms, so the checks are the same. Many codes come down to installation: how the drain hose sits in the standpipe, or how the water supply is connected.
Find your code below for what it means, what to check first and when to call for service.
- F9 E1 Long drain: the washer took too long to drain the water.
- F3 E1 Water level sensing error: the washer can't detect the water level, usually a pressure sensor or control fault.
- F1 E1 Main control fault: the washer's main control board has detected a fault.
